The genre diversity ranges from Bekir Bülbül's contemplative road movie CLOVES AND CARNATIONS (TR), which celebrates its German premiere at the FFC, to the world premiere of the tragicomedy KINGS OF RAP (UA) by Myroslav Latyk, in which two teenagers from the Ukrainian province go off the rails because they take the motif of 'gangsta rap' too seriously, and the Albanian political thriller ONE OF US (AL), a reference to film noir, to the medieval thriller trilogy MELCHIOR THE APOTHECARY[u1] (EE). This was filmed in one of the best preserved medieval city ensembles in Europe, the Estonian capital Tallinn.
In the section overview you will find the films of the 11 sections of the FilmFestival Cottbus at a glance. Read detailed film descriptions and for many films you can also see the trailer.A special focus this year will be on the film country Romania, in the new section EcoEast films on ecological topics and sustainability will be shown and in Polskie Horizonty current Polish films will be shown that explore the relationship between urban and rural areas.
The supporting program includes numerous panel discussions on individual films or film series, including two rounds of talks on the situation of Ukrainian filmmakers, a panel discussion on the situation of journalists in Southeastern Europe on the occasion of the world premiere of the documentary THE LONELY LONG-DISTANCE RUNNERS - FOUR STORIES OF JOURNALISTS FROM THE BALKANS. A talk on the film series "Women's Roles in Socialism and After" explores the portrayal of women's roles in the cinema of socialism and today, while the "Heimat / Domownja / Domizna" section screens films from and about Lusatia, traditionally with a focus on Sorbian themes and films in the Sorbian language. Both deer are also accompanied by panel discussions.

The venues of the 32nd FFC this year are the Filmtheater Weltspiegel, the Glad-House and Obenkino, the Kammerbühne and the Raumflugplanetarium.
Tickets are available for purchase starting at 6 euros directly online in the program overview, as well as at all reservix ticket stores and at CottbusService (Stadthalle Cottbus, Berliner Platz 6). You want to watch films every day? The FestivalPass is available exclusively in advance until November 1 for 75 euros. With this pass you can watch five films every day.
