She graduated in animated film from the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts, Bratislava. Her master’s degree film Lionardo Mio (2005) gained an award at the Bologna European Festival of Film Schools. She won twelve domestic and international awards for her début film Four (Štyri,2007). Her trilogy about female soul was completed by films Snow (Sneh, 2013) and Yellow (Žltá, 2017) that was selected for Animated Film Festival in Annecy. Ivana with Katarina Kerekesova and Katarina Molakova created the TV special Mimi and Lisa – Christmas Lights Mystery (Mimi a Líza – Záhada vianočného svetla, 2018).
KATARÍNA KEREKESOVÁ
(1974, Žilina, Slovakia)
Katarína Kerekesová graduated at Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Animation Department and subsequently she had continued with postgraduate studies finished in 2007. After studies she established her own company Fool Moon focused on production of animated films. She produced and directed animation musical STONES, TV series and TV special MIMI & LISA, short film of Ivana Šebestová YELLOW and actually 3D animated series THE WEBSTERS.
As a chairwoman she represents Slovak Association of Animated Film Producers and acts as the teacher at Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. Katarina is the member of EFA and Slovak Film and Television Academy.
