Nina desperately wants to become an author – but even her brother yawns when he hears her stories. She seeks help from her neighbour Lídia, a real writer. ‘Without conflict, a story is like cola without fizz!’ says Lídia, and gives Nina a special task: she is to write about something that changed her life. Suddenly, ideas start bubbling up – about a mysterious woman her dad falls in love with, questions about her late mother, embarrassing and exciting moments of growing up. As she writes, Nina realises that her own life is the most exciting novel of all!
A family film with an original visual style: the creative colour scheme and cinematic fade-ins in particular lend the story a fresh dynamism: explanations, notes and crossed-out thoughts from Nina's book come to life, as if they were jumping straight from her head onto the screen.
