Once again FilmFestival Cottbus provides the venue for a début screening of a fairy tale film adaptation co-produced by Berlin-Brandenburg Broadcasting (rbb) and Saarland Broadcasting (SR). In this version of the well-known tale by Hans Christian Andersen a vain prince is trapped by the devil, who will release him only on the condition that he finds a bride masked as a terrifying bear. When his own father is unable to recognise him he sneaks onto a neighbouring farm where the beautiful Elise suspects his real identity. AB
