Prince Frederick is anything but enthusiastic: he is supposed to choose the ladies for the grand ball from a stack of portraits – his mother is already breathing down his neck. But before he can face this duty, Frederick flees with his friends to the enchanted forest. There he meets Odette, a mysterious swan girl. Fascinated, he watches her transform into a swan and learns of the curse that binds her to this fate. Only true love can break it – but Odette has long since learned to live with her transformation. Frederick is enchanted by the self-confident Odette and invites her to the ball. For Friedrich, one thing is clear: he wants to free her from the curse! But the sinister sorcerer Rothbart has other plans. He wants to smuggle his daughter Odile into the ball in Odette's place. Will Friedrich realise at the ball who is really standing before him – and what it means to truly love?
