PIKAD PABERID
ROLLING PAPERS
Performance
Sebastian is stuck in the daily grind behind a supermarket checkout – nothing happens, day in, day out. And then Silo appears: a hipster, dreamer, and out-and-out vagabond. Together they roam the Estonian capital of Tallinn, smoking weed all the while, and dream of escaping to ultimate freedom. And all this before love enters the equation.
While the party lights in the city never quite go out, Sebastian's desire to take responsibility for himself and others returns to his thoughts. He realises that, while smoking weed, he has forgotten that he still wants to do something with his life. With great affection for his characters, Meel Paliale captures the aimlessness of youth in warm colours whilst, at the same time, casting Tallinn in a dreamy neon glow where time seems to stand still. A poetic and hope-infused look at a generation of youngsters whose world is falling apart and don't know where they're headed - and who therefore live every moment all the more intensely.
