Bogdan Ilieșiu - Bogdan Ilieșiu, who was born in 1984, is a Romanian film director who is based in Cluj-Napoca.
He has a Master's degree in Business Administration from Babeș-Bolyai University and a
Producer's Diploma from the Hollywood Film Institute in Los Angeles.
He has directed a number of well-known short films that have been shown around the world through his production company, Febra Film, which he started in 2013. The Tower of Pisa (2019) was chosen for the Romanian Short Waves program at the Cannes Film Festival. It then played at the Transilvania IFF, the European FF Bucharest, the Girona FF, the Cologne IFF, and other places. The movie won a lot of awards, such as the Audience Award at Film 4 Fun (Romania), Best Short at the Independent Producers Indie FF (Bucharest), and Special Mentions at Rabat Comedy IFF (Morocco).
The Headlight (2017), his first movie, premiered at the Cannes Short Film Corner and was shown at more than 15 international festivals. It won awards like Best Director at Film 4 Fun (Romania) and the Special Jury Award at Short to the Point (Romania).
