The best productions from Central and Eastern Europe. Young talents compete with established directors.

Twelve films from 19 (co-)production countries compete for the Lubinas for best film, best director and outstanding performance. Twelve stories as diverse as Eastern Europe between political thriller and coming-of-age, zombie film and Kung Fu comedy, feminism and dictatorship, city and country, mourning and hope, retrospection and vision, love and revolution - sometimes thoughtful, sometimes full of action, sometimes quite weird, diverse as never before ...

 

 

 


These prizes are awarded by the international festival jury:

Main prize for the best film 25.000 EUR
donated by the Society for the Administration of Film and Television Rights (GWFF)

Special Award for Best Director 7.500 EU
donated by Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg rbb

Prize for an outstanding individual performance 5,000 EUR
donated by Sparkasse Spree-Neiße

In addition to the prize money, there is also the prize sculpture LUBINA (Sorbian: the lovely one). Here you can see a video of the creation of the LUBINA.
